moving seedlings under lite

    i have 400 watt HPS - have it 3 1/2 feet above where seedlings in 16 oz. cups will be.
    Is there a strategy so I don't burn the babies?

    somebody said on another thread that if the back of ur hand can stay under the light without getting burnt then the plant will be ok..
