Mold in a socket?

  1. So I made a waterfall bong a few weeks ago, and it is one hell of a trooper. Tonight, I got it out and took a look in the socket and I noticed some white hairs in it. It could have been mold, but now I vaguely remember one night when I was really high I tried to wipe the socket out with a paper towel. I think the fibers got stuck in it. To be safe though I put a lighter to it and held it there.
If those white hairs were actually mold, would I be safe smoking out of the socket?

  2. As far as I know, metal doesn't grow mold. I would say wash it off thoroughly and reuse. Metal can only rust I believe.

  3. if you want to be safe, dip it in rubbing alcohol, burn it a lil, and you'll be good. besides, marijuana often has miscroscopic mold particles growing all over it. I wouldnt worry.

  4. Rust is iron oxide, only iron can turn to rust. Many metals can oxidize regardless, like copper turning to that illustrious green color is a result of it oxidizing.

Post a picture of the offending mold
