So I just picked up a Behringer 1002B Mixer. It has 5 xlr inputs and I need 7 for my drumset. In layman's terms, how can I use 7 xlr microphones with a mixer that only has 5 xlr inputs?
If you can obtain an XLR Y-adapter, get two of those. Then you can combine two mics of similar sounding things, like 2 toms together or cymbal mics or something like that, to one channel. So with 5 channels and two Y-adapters on two of those channels, that gives you 7 inputs.
