microscopes and tricomes

  1. Ok,
    I'm close to harvest.
I have been using a 30x loop which has been good for inspecting but I have had trouble telling whether they are clear, cloudy, amber,

I just got a little pocket 60x-100x scope.

Now I've seen quick glimpses of cloudy and clear tric, confirming that i needed a little more magnification.

But I can't stay steady enough to really see well.

The scope requires you being right on top of the bud to focus in.
And while bending over and my buds constantly move a tiny bit. (air flow)

and my hand is about as steady as a crack head.

    Any suggestions?

I'm about to cut a tiny bit off to examine on a table.
Would rather not "inspect by destroy" even if only a little bit.

    Thanks

    MM

    Well, getting a little better.

I made a retarded jig out of a small piece of thin steel, some cut up mouse pads, duct tape, my camera/microscope... a total failure. lol

This is a vid I took, camera zoomed and focused on eyehole of the pocket microscope.

This was all hand focused. one hand on the scope, one on the camera.
So please bear with the focus phasing in and out.

I think it came out pretty cool though.

as far as the tric's, clear going cloudy would you say?

    First harvest.
    Thanks,
    MM

edit> oh and thank you iphone/cd laser lens post for getting me thinking towards this.

  3. lookin on the clear/cloudy side... need another week or 2 imo
how many weeks are you in flowering so far

  4. Howdy MM......if you can afford about 35 bucks, get one of these:

[IMG]2MP USB Digital Microscope endoscope Magnifier 200X New

It hooks up to your USB port and puts the shot full screen on your computer. You can really see whats going on.

    cheers,

  5. thanks chunk, thanks space.
Yeah, two weeks of flush is what I'm planning on. starting yesterday.

They have been in flower since dec 1st-ish

    I had them in veg almost 3 months under 2, 4' t5's.
    realy underpowered.

but I got the cash and the ballast.
next round I'll be runningn a 400 mh during veg (600hps in flower) which should speed things up.

One problem I'm dealing with is that as this is my 'beta' grow with bag seed.

    They are all different.

    1 is 50/50 clear/milkey, the other 80/10/10 milkey,clear,amber.

Which is why I just started to flush.
hopefully we all meet somewhere in the middle.

    thanks for the lead.
