im thinking about starting a veg grow room and am a little not really sure which light to go with. I hear the MH do wonders but is it worth dealing with all the heat and the extra electric cost? how well would the t5 compaire...lets say like a 400watt MH vs a 6 tube t5?
The t5 6 bulb (4ft) would be 324 watts....so not much savings in electric cost. I would use t5 lights unless your veg time is more then 4 weeks.
Compared to mh or hps t5 lights will be cool...they still can warm up an area if it's not properly vented. We use hps and some t5 strip lights in flower and in veg we use ho t5 for clones and the first 10 days after potted..then they go under a 12 bulb vho t5 for 2 weeks before moving to flower. SignSmoker
