MH then HPS same socket?

    Can I switch bulbs from a 400w MH to a 400W HPS
    remote ballast in the same socket?
    can this be done?

    No, as MH and HPS lights run differently. They do, however, make conversion light bulbs to allow the use of a MH in an HPS socket and vice versa. The light does lose a bit of wattage; a 400w light would become about 350-360w with a conversion bulb.

    Then again, if using an MH socket and a HPS bulb, the lumen output of the HPS is greater than an MH, so even with the wattage loss, you still should gain some lumens, if not break even.
