Mesuring glass thickness

Discussion in 'Apprentice Marijuana Consumption' started by Stoned Lax, Jan 25, 2010.

  1. I recently bought a spoon. It seems pretty thick but is hard to see through even with a bright light. So my question is, How can you tell how thick the glass on a non see through piece?

  2. Measure it?

  3. I meant the thickness of the glass not the pipe, you know how roor comes in 5mm 3mm etc.

yeah dude i know what you're talking about, i mean maybe take a measuring tape and use that? I don't know, use some sort of measuring tool

  5. use a caliber or some shit? micrometer?

  6. calipers ftw, and if you can manager to fit a micrometer in the spoon somewhere to get a good reading then mic ftw too.

also if you flick or tap the glass with your nail you can tell how thick it is, but this takes a LOT of experience with glass

  7. Right on, we have those in mechanics ill be sure to do that. Thanks!
