I'm in south Carolina in the upstate area. I want to kick the movement in the ass and get it going here.

besides all the talking points by professors, patients and law enforcement saying legalize marijuana to which I'm going to attempt to gather some video's and put them together in CD format to be handed out to educate people.

I see the need to build a following and an organization.

my approach will be to as follows.

    1. encourage people to turn their backs on the federal law. the fed says states can not regulate immigration, that that is a federal power and so like wise, federal drug laws are a Federal problem, not a states, the 70 year ban on marijuana has in fact resulted in the largest, longest spanning UN-funded federal mandate ever imposed upon the states.

If they want this law enforced, let them pay for it and enforce it, by their own admission, the states have NO authority to enforce federal laws.

I want to encourage people to just set up grows and over grow the government,. things didn't change in Canada , California and the other 15 states, including the district of Columbia, the very seat of federal power by waiting for diplomats at the top to make the change, the people ignored the law and mandated change themselves and the law had no choice but to follow suite and bend to the will of the people.

I want to promote grow room classes, classes on stealth and education as how to grow the best crop. of course in the beginning these classes will be DRY, but I'm sure once marijuana is brought out of the closet as it has in other states and the demonetization fades, the people will respond and the law will also.

Change starts at the bottom, not the top. we all saw obama's change, just another day in the status quo.

my goal, is to form a pyramid type class structure, where I educate 3 people and bring them to the class, they in turn educate 3 people each and bring them to the class and so on until there's 10's of thousands holding and attending a medicinal marijuana class.

Also the CD with the video's will be copied and supplied to every teer of the pyramid to further educate other people most likely to vote and vote against it unless they are informed of the benefits of legalization.

I want to use a 2 pronged approach to getting this on a ballot.

I want to get every class attendee to register to vote and to sign a ballot referendum until we have the required amount of signatures to get it on the ballot in 2012.

also, I will promote a 2nd ballot measure to out right legalize it all together. using a ploy from the socialists own hand book, I'll promote full legalization and fall back and compromise on the legal medicinal measure. which is the goal in the first place.

who knows, the full measure could pass, if not I bet there's a good chance the medicinal one would.

I have never done this before, I'm learning as I go and I'm looking for fellow south and north Carolinians to join in.

If we can build a structure for south Carolina, we can mirror it with our neighbors next door in north Carolina and kill 2 birds with one stone..

This isn't an impossibility, it's already happened in 15 states and dc.

the south Carolina general assembly has held hearing on legalization and the economic benefits as well as medical. LEAP has made videos saying they support legalization.

it's time to toss this outdated, paranoid, racists ban on pot into the trash.

NOW IS THE TIME... to do it.

anyone wishing to comment or pitch in, any help will be appreciated.

  2. NC has had a MMJ bill in process for awhile now. Nothing happened with it last year because no one here does anything. January of last the North Carolina Cannabis Patients Network was talking about working hard to get the bill through and they did nothing. They are saying the same for next year but I'm stating to lose hope with them. Honestly if you want to help see if your states NORML has monthly meeting and attend those if you really want to push for a change here in the carolinas.

them groups are led by Idiots. you don't sit back and wait for change, you champion for it.
in every case the people said screw you and did it anyways and the law changed. these people have had ample time to do this and they failed, everyone is sitting back waiting for someone else to do something.

there are 2 ways to get bills made into law.

sit back and wait for hell to freeze over and someone at the top might get around to it.
or the people rise up and put it on the ballot and it's voted on.

how many of these groups collected sigs for a ballot ?

    none.

thats.. the 1st step and no-one has taken it.

well i aim to take that first step and normal and the rest can catch up and help carry the ball. if they choose too.

  4. very nice man i like the motivation you have. i don't live anywhere near you though.

GREAT STRATEGY if you want nothing to change. why would I attend meetings where nothing is done ?, I could stay home and accomplish nothing far easier.

sometimes if you want something done, you gotta do it yourselves.

there are some really good video's out there outlining the economic benefits, the products that could be made, the absurdness of the 1937 propaganda and centering around DuPont and petrol companies desire to stamp out competition.

if these are made available to mainstream Carolina's, it would surly change peoples opinion.

are you a doer or a stand in line and waiter ?

I'm not waiting another day on this, we got 2 years until 2012 and it could be put on the ballots, all we have to do, is try.

  6. Thanks...

and dont worry about not living near by. if you live in a state where it's not legal, you could start it.
I'm thinking on the linesof a packet, which includes some really informative videos. comments from law enforcement, the fed attorney general saying he will respect state laws (10th ) amendment.

coupled with a voter registration form, and 2 ballot measures for them to sign and send back.

once the proper number is reached, we file it and it goes on the ballot. then it's voted on up or down, if it passes, it's law.

it would far easyer to build a structor and mirror it all at the same time, then to do it 3 seperate times independently. tap into the truth and patriot movment, of which most are liberterian leaning. then you add millions into the mix from other highly already established org's. and once they reconize and promote you, then you are legit and off and running.

imagine it on the ballot in all remaining states in 2012. we could do it...

all we have to do it try...

Ok, I talked to a guy I helped out when he opened his resturant, a small chicken wing place.
he supports medicinal and has agreed to let me hold a small meeting there, play some video's and start something...

oh and eat chicken wings...a win win situation.

Ok, now...I assume i'll start with people I know. I'll start with a small handful of people i know that both support and dont support the idea. I'm sure once I educate them on the real facts I call prob sway them all.

if so, then I'll expand by having them reccomend people to attand the next meeting and so on. Hopefully i can meet up with other motivated revolutionary people, some more eliquent and articulate then me and we can get down to work mass producing our meet up groups with the goal of gathering the required sigs, and registering everyone of them at the same time.

this way the state cant throw it out saying theyr'e unregisterd voter names on the petitions a trick they always pull.

  8. It was a good post patriot1776, but you have some spelling errors.

  9. I know, I got a retarded spell check, it makes more mistakes then corrections...

sometimes I just don't feel like fixing it. I just changed to a new dictionary and think it might help.

also my keyboard sticks and sometimes leaves out letters. it's so aggravating..

  10. WOW, that comment before yours was butchered..ha ha ha ...too funny.

  11. Bump, Let's Go North Carolina

  12. States - Ballotpedia

North Carolina and South Carolina both do not allow citizen initiatives, so getting a medical or recreational ballot initiative as an ordinary citizen of those states is impossible.

I believe the only ballot initiatives in either state comes from the legislature when amending the state constitution.

22 states however do have some form of citizen initatatives, which is usually direct(goes straight to ballot after X verified signatures) or indirect(goes before the state legislature, and if its ignored/fails to pass, goes to the ballot)

    The 15 states and DC:
Active State Medical Marijuana Programs - NORML
    Alaska - Medical through ballot
    Arizona - Medical through ballot
    California - Medical through ballot
    Colorado - Medical through ballot
    DC - Medical through legislature(2010) and ballot(1998)
    Hawaii - Medical through legislature
    Maine - Medical through ballot
    Michigan - Medical through ballot
    Montana - Medical through ballot
    Nevada - Medical through ballot
New Jersey - Medical through legislature
New Mexico - Medical through legislature
    Oregon - Medical through ballot
Rhode Island - Medical through legislature
    Vermont - Medical through legislature
    Washington - Medical through ballot

States remaining that could potentially add medical through citizen ballot initiative:
Arkansas, Idaho, Massachusetts, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Utah, Wyoming

11 out of the 22 citizen initiative states.

I think Massachusetts has the best chance of getting medical passed through ballot(having decriminalized through ballot in 08 in good turn out as well as positive results in '10 when certain districts were asked about medical/recreational) and South Dakota (with a record two failed attempts) as the state with very little chance of passing.

  13. YEP

you are right, looked it up..imagine that.

    WTF?

well, then i'll just sit here and smoke a jonit.:D

  14. well then we just gotta speak up and make sure them people up there here us.

  15. On an unreleated note, shouldn't every state have ballot initiatives

  16. hey man im from the upstate too, all of our "all powerful" old hag leaders and elders of this state are all about the fact that marijuana is a gateway drug.
anything they say thats bad about sweet mj or any flaws, we could make sure we cover and enlighten them that its all bullshit
that seems to be their only comeback "uhh gateway drug this, gateway drug that"
    SHUT THE FUCK UP!
if anything a fuckin gateway drug would be ALCOHOL or TOBACCO or as Tenn. Rep. said "It could be the milk we give our children that leads to juice that leads to beer that leads to wiskey ect"
because arent those things less looked at and ACTUALLY ADDICTIVE
my point is...im tired of this "gateway" bullshit. someone needs to let them know that that excuse dont work no more.
glad to see a fellow upstate man is wantin to do somethin bout all this too
btw which part of the upstate?
    greenville, spartanburg?

  17. I don't think so. While I think ballot initiatives can serve good purpose when legislatures are afraid to act on controversial issues, this isn't always the case.

A well funded social conservative organization could bombard a state with many ballot questions on lower turnout(non presidential) election, where theses types of things have a better shot of passing given the voter turnouts.

More so, minorities can be targeted by such ballots(Prop 8 in California) where a simple majority is all that is needed.

No system is perfect. But each state should have the right to decide how it would like to be governed.

  18. If this works I will love you forever OP
I live in NC and will hopefully be at Clemson next year
