Marijuana Addiction

Discussion in 'General' started by dillpickle70, Jun 6, 2014.

  1. I feel like a lot of smokers are just mentally addicted to smoking every day. They don't view this as a problem and just deny it by saying they can stop whenever they want (but never do.) Basically I think a lot more people are addicted to weed than you would expect. There are also PROVEN withdrawal symptoms for those of you that like to refuse the idea of it being true. I love weed as much as the next guy but I like to support facts as well.

  2. There aren't any proven withdrawal symptoms because it's not Physically addictive and everyone is different.  Like you said, they can stop whenever they WANT TO.  But there is no need to stop now is there? They don't have to prove anything to you.

  3. I agree. Weed is mentally addictive, and I believe it becomes a crutch to those who don't have anything else or don't want to do anything else. Honestly, I don't see it as a problem. Potheads aren't violent, so I'd rather somebody be addicted to smoking weed than anything else. A pothead is better than a crackhead. Who cares if they don't want to admit it to themselves? The stepping stone Hypothesis has long since been proven wrong, so what's the problem?

Yeah, I'm addicted to booty too, so what. It's cannabis, even IF you could get addicted it's still trees. I would much rather be addicted to that than unmentionables or something. It would probably be healthier than being addicted to porn. I'm already addicted to Xanax (legal) prescribed by a doctor. I'll convulse an shit if I go off it, I've NEVER had anything like that happen when I take T-Breaks.

  5. I never tried to say being a stoner was a bad thing as I used to smoke daily I just don't see the need for it in my life. Having said that, most of my friends still take daily and some have even admitted being addicted.

  6. This man is a Troll.  This argument could go on and on and only one side will win.

People with addictive tendencies and personalities are predisposed to be addicted to something.  Marijuana isn't the problem.

  7. This is pretty much the exact defensive response I get from most people. There actually are proven withdrawal symptoms that obviously aren't physical. Look them up.

  8. Refer to my above post.  Everyone is different.  Even if there is non-physical withdrawal that one receives ,it's negligible compared to Alcohol and Nicotine addiction, both of which are ironically legal.

This is simply two varying opinions on a tender subject for stoners because they don't want to view the negative aspect of their precious daily habit. Never intended for this to be an argument just wanted to hear a different opinion. I realize the benefits far outweigh the negatives.

  10. They just rack the diciprine.

  11. I'm not arguing the severity of the withdrawal just that it exists and the attempt of people like you to either try and debunk it or compare it to a harder drugs obvious physical withdrawals.

What was the point of posting this then? You posted this on GrassCity, and didn't expect it to turn into an argument? Lol.

I debunked it because I've never experienced ANY withdrawal myself, smoking for 4 years daily and having to stop due to legal issues.  As I said, everyone is different, and as far as my personal experience, no such withdrawal exists.

There's a mystical being, he's called "The Flying Spaghetti Monster". Look him up....
Just because you read something doesn't mean it's true, smfh...

Edit: The "Mental Withdrawal" symptoms you are talking about are like irritation an shit. If someone took my trees and I couldn't smoke that would piss my off too. When you run out that sucks, you should be irritated. You're not having withdrawals, you're getting annoyed. Why does everyone feel the need to give every basic human emotion a label and then make it sound like it's a problem?

  14. Yes, it's different for everybody but a larger percentage than you would like to believe experience some withdrawal symptoms such as anxiety, irritability, loss of appetite, insomnia to name a few.

  15. Like I said weed has way too many positives compared to a few very miniscule negatives but they do exist for some people. Addiction being entirely dependent on human nature.

  16. I inject 5 marijuanas a day, I am an addict.

  17. All of those symptoms are helped by smoking. Maybe the problem isn't that you're having withdrawals, maybe you're feeling like that when you stop because the weed was making those symptoms go away.

  18. Never did I say that everybody that smokes every day is addicted but there are people that are.

  19. THC without CBD regulation actually causes anxiety and depression in a lot of people.

Even if these symptoms exist for some people what's the problem ? No one is going to Rob, Steal, Prostitute, or Be unable to function if they don't have weed.  The reason I involve other drugs is because people experience all of the above when going through withdrawal.  Marijuana addiction is Negligible!!

A lot is not everyone.  Everyone is different and people are actually prescribed Marijuana FOR anxiety and depression and also in my experience it helps my intense anxiety and depression.
