If the tape works then it looks fine. Has to be tied to the right side kinda on that 90 degree angle to relase the hormones for growth. Looks fine, I may suggest though twist tie to assist you. How big is your pot to be LSTing anyhow? I think the minimum pot size for Lst should be a one gallon pot. Bare minimum. Your plant will grow greatly and you dont want to get root bound. LST is a great technique! can really get some bushes. I used strong, fine kite string years ago to attach to the stem (wrap around) and it cut through the stem. Just need to make sure what comes in contact with the stem is not abrasive or cutting.
