the situation I have a 2 x 2 x 4 grow box I grow just one plant at a time in a 10 gallon pot (overkill, I know) in organic soil for my 1st grow I finished with 10 23w cfls I plan to continue vegging under cfls I have the room to add a light on top of the box and i can't afford LEDs suggestions??
More CFL's? Seems like the obvious answer to me, I dunno. A box that size seems too small for an HPS. Harder to keep cool. Maybe you should try to upgrade the box, or build a second (larger) one just for flowering, and get a 600w hps for it.
Thanks for the reply I could add some height to the box or I could mount a light on the top of the current box.... the guy at the grow shop suggested a 150 or 250 watt metal halide for flowering in that size box..... is that an option, or are those sizes to small, and he,'s just trying to sell me something?
The 250w will work nicely if you only want one plant. If all I had to work with was a 250w hps, I would supplement the grow chamber with cfl's. Yes, it's an option, and yes, the guy at the grow shop wants to sell his stuff.
