Looking for A Movie

    So it's pissing me off that I can't remember this movie. I saw it in the 90's and all I remember was it was about this kid who went to another world or something. He was dared to walk across this pipe above some whirlpool / cyclone type thing. He fell in and ended up in this world with crazy llama looking things. And I'm not on shrooms, nor was I when I saw it. Any ideas?
