Long Shot, But Anyone Have Experience In This?

  1. Hello fellow blades! In a few months I will be travelling across the world to Shanghai, China, where my year of TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) will begin. My salary will be around 20,000RMB a month, equivalent to around 3000USD.

Shanghai is a beautiful, modern metropolis. It's cost of living is fairly cheaper than the United States especially the cost of food. The best part about TEFL is there is no requirement for experience in teaching. You also are not required to learn any mandarin because these schools are strictly English speaking only. The only requirement is having a native English tongue.

I know this is a long shot but do any blades have experience with TEFL anywhere in the world? I'd love to get as much info as possible and if anyone has any questions or interest in the program can comment as well.
