I went to my local hardware store and checked out the different light sources available. What I found was this ... a 30w fluro with 2000 lumens, a 60w halogen with 1880 lumens and a 200w with 3880 lumens. My question is which light source would be the best for just 1 to 3 plants The wattage and lumen output that I put down are as shown on the light package. Any help at all would be great
hey stew.. i cant help with the halogen question but if you want flouros, like compact flouros, you want to look for cool or daylight bulbs for your veg as they have more of the blue spectrum. The warms are great for flower. You can get 26 watt daylight bulbs at 6000 kelvin right now at wal-mart for $6.44 for a two pack, which i think is a great deal..As for how many, the more the better, you want to make sure and light the sides of your plants too, if you should choose flouro as the penetration is not as intense as an hd light..
