Light Times | Constant vs Light breaks?

  1. Does anyone know if it's okay to give plants a break in light during the veg stage? Run lights for 10 hours, switch em off for 4 hours and turn em on for another 8? and leave em off for another 2?

So will a plant go into flowering if it doesn't receive a constant 18-24 hours of light like the sun?

  2. you should give them some dark time in veg cycle, its not necessary but i always do it and im sure most pro growers do
BUT the way your talking about it is a big no no no haha

The plant will most def. turn hermie or something if you dont have the lights on for a constant 18 to 20 hours of light during veg cycle, and 12 hours of on and off light for flowering.

So remember 20 hours on 4 hours off, or if you want leave them on 24 hours a day, just as long as your in the veg cycle

  3. What causes a plant to go into flower is primarily an extended dark period. There is ongoing debate about whether MJ plants need any dark during the veg cycle, but the consensus among those who do give dark is to give 4-8 uninterrupted hours per 24.

Let's turn your question around: why even contemplate two short dark periods? Just stick with what is time-tested and don't try to re-invent the wheel. 18/6 or 24/0 will get you where you want.

  4. i believe plants grow just as fast under 18/6 as they do under 24/0

during dark time the roots grow more
