Light help

    Hey guys.. my plants are in week 3 of veg so I'm gonna have to be getting a light soon to flower... currently vegging with a mix of T8 flouros and CFLs.. saw this 600w LED on eBay just wanted some opinions

    I don't care about using either LED/HPS I just need the cheapest thing to do the job. Money is tight

    This sentence alone tells me you should buy an HID setup. If I were you I wouldn't mess with no name brand LEDs from ebay. You'll get what you pay for, which is crap.

    $150 gets you a 600w HID that'll work great for 4 small/medium plants.

    BTW, that "600w" LED isn't actually drawing 600w so don't confuse that with a real 600w HID fixture.

    A 600w light is only good for 4 plants? I was hoping to throw 6-8 under that bad boy. I found some HID lights on Craigslist for around $100 used. I also found a 1000w light for $40 lol looks old as hell but I'll link you to a couple others I was looking at

    That's up to you if you want to buy used stuff. If you were looking to flower 6-8 plants under that LED than I suggest you do a lot more learning before you buy. Read everything in the link below.

    Depends how long you plan on vegging for honestly. I have 8 under a 400w hps, but went 12/12 from seed on most. I keep my best ones right under the light, worst ones kind of on the outskirts.. but enough that they aren't stretching.

    I plan on vegging for another 3 weeks so 6 weeks in total. I have already began to top and lst as well. Would like to keep the relatively small/bushy

    ^this.

    My 400w is an Apollo. Comes with reflector, dimmable ballast, 1 MH bulb, 1 hps bulb, and some nifty hangers that are simple to adjust. They're quality too despite the low price.

    I agree.. I think I'll probably end up going the HID route. In those links above there's one with two 1000w lights for 75 each and one with 1 light for $100. Worse comes to worse I would just have to buy a new bulb at some point? Or should I just buy them new

    I saw the links you posted, I'd buy new. The price different between 400w, 600w, 1000w is nearly the same btw. So $75-100 for a ballast and hood ends up being the same as buying new once you get bulbs and everything

    And that Apollo is the exact one I recommended too. OP, that's more than a coincidence.
