Licensed edible production facility

Discussion in 'Marijuana Business and Industry' started by themightykelso, Jul 17, 2015.

  1. Hi all,

I'm new to the forum and currently reside in California. My company produces packaged food products that could easily be turned into edibles. My question is: do I need a license to manufacture edibles? My kitchen is fully licensed already to produce perishable products (refrigeration required). My idea is to buy infused butter and/or honey and reformulate the non-edible product into an edible one.

Further, I have other product ideas as well. Can I formulate a product's intensity (light, medium, super strong etc) by using an oil of some type? (Sort of like adjusting for sweetness by adding sugar.)

Thanks very much for any guidance.

Are you in the process of becoming a small dispensary or are you at home? Home production is very dicey but these might be helpful
