I've used lemon juice, lime juice, but fresh squeezed, and never had issues, but never looked into it for sure .
I prefer to buy in the correct gear but I do use lemon juice as a cheap cleaner for my bong add a few drops avoids the tar sticking to the glass makes crap weed good too ...lol good luck
Lemon juice is mildly acidic and will lower PH as will vinegar. Acid Choices for Reducing Water Alkalinity | PRO-MIX All are commonly used in agriculture. BNW
For soil grows an alternate such as Elemental Sulfur can be used, While slower acting it provides longer lasting effects in my experience if your using a high PH water source. BNW
