    Don't want to make this a long story, so here it goes. Basically, got caught smoking at the park with some friends. Cop catches us, takes us to his car to take down our info. Came in friends car, and wasn't sure of the laws, so he searched our car for drugs in the parking lot. Just wondering, is he allowed to do this? Pretty sure he is, but not sure. Couldn't find online.

    Also, can anyone add in any tips for what cops can and can't do if you're caught.

    if your caught with narcotics on you, he has probable cause to search your vehicle and anything you have on you. The most he will do is probably just let u go and decriminalize you.

    Yeah, he didn't find any drugs, so he let us off with a warning. But I just wanted to make sure.
