Larz's Organic Outdoor Grow

Discussion in 'Organic Grow Journals' started by larzq309, Apr 25, 2013.

  1. Hello all and welcome to my journal. My name is Larz and this will be my first organic grow :). The soil I will be using will be based on The Easy Organic Soil Mix For Beginners by ITG, advice from other people(Jerry), and reading in the organic section.

    Soil:
    5.5 cu ft Peat Moss
2 cu ft Blus blend bio dynamic compost
3.5 cu ft Garden and Bloome EWC
    4 cu ft Perilite

To this I added 10 pounds of dolomite lime, 60 cups of granite/marble dust, 4 pounds of DE, 28 cups of E Z Green Chicken manure, and 40 cups of my amendment mix.

Amendment mix is 1/4 tomato tone, 1/4 alfalfa meal, and 2/4 kelp meal.

The soil has been cooking since the beginning of march.

I will be growing outdoor as a Southern California Medical Marijuana Patient. I have 5 Plushberry seeds in cups waiting to sprout and 3 clones already ready.
Only one clone is outside to see how well it does before the rest go out. The others are in a CFL box.

Voila! The last two. The smaller pot was tped a while ago and had time to grow. The one in the bigger pot I wasn't going to keep but I just tped like a week ago.

I'll be tping all other clones into the final soil on tuesday, the one in the big pot will be the only one to stay there til she gets bigger.

  4. Everyone's getting a EWC top dressing and an act today. Followed by a good mulching to keep the roots happy.

  6. Hey Larz,

You have a nice journal and a pretty garden …
I am not one to give advice except to ask Do you have your comfrey plants making leaves yet? !

Re teas on establised plant questions:
I say weak teas are a good way to not overdo. And I learned that the hard way!
    :)

  7. I don't have any comfrey, yet lol. Wanna start with what I have and that's kelp and alfalfa.

Yea ill probably add a few tablespoons per gallon.

And thanks for the kind words :).

  8. Larz,

A well thought-out true organic grow:wave:. Wish there were more of these!
Cant wait to see what your girls turn into and prop's for using bu's blend it's some great stuff.

  9. Thanks Dope

I read a lot on the organic forum ,and took as many notes as I could before going on this venture. The reading was the first steps and am I glad I took the time to read as much as I could.

Yea its real good stuff, pricey at 20 a bag but well worth it. A good ACT really helps thing get going.

  10. Bad news guys. The clones didn't take nice to the ACT they got some kind of burn and one even died. Best I can do is hope they pull through. Fingers crossed. I'll get some pics up soon.

On another note the seeds are doing well I even popped two autos, first try at an auto.

  11. So all has been well with the live plants lol
The five big ones are tga plushberry the ones in orange buckets are white widow auto and auto haze other seedlings are fem freebies.
