Landrace Hunt

Discussion in 'Marijuana Consumption Q&A' started by Freebird96, Jul 18, 2019.

  1. So I'm 22 just graduated college. Travelling the world right now. I'm on the hunt for true landrace cannabis. I'm talking real Thai stick, Acapulco gold, Columbian gold, Panama red, Hawaiin, etc.

    How can I find them?

  2. It might be tricky with Hawaiian, but all those other varieties are from cultures that historically grow seeded plants. I suppose in that situation you could try and find a local who could hook you up with the local grown smoke. Then cache any seeds. It seems pretty risky though - some of those countries have VERY harsh laws.
I'd be interested in knowing about cultivation standards in those countries now a days. North America isn't the export market that it once was for those countries. That could translate into higher quality growing practices.
Smaller plots grown for a local market, rather than the big commercial operations.

  3. Yeah I'm willing to take the risk. Maybe less so in a country like Vietnam with a greater language barrier but I'm sure Hawaii or even somewhere like the emerald triangle in Norcal should have some opportunity to find original herb.

I've just always wanted to try it. I've smoked landrace Hawaiin before but I smoked it with a bunch of Oregon recreational so it was hard to isolate the effects.

I've just always had a profound interest in all things old school. I keep finding articles that describe the legendary effects of the pure strains and always wanted to see for myself.

  4. You get them by going to the places where they originated and finding a hookup.

Or you just order the seeds off the internet from breeders who have already done the legwork, and just go to those places to smoke.

  5. That's what I thought. I'm gonna try Hawaii first.
