    do drug testing labs test for thc or for the metabolite of thc?

    Yes. Pretty much every kind of test does. It stays in you system for a long time too, so if you got a test coming up you should cheat it or quit.

    Drug tests usually look for the metabolites since the drug has already been metabolized by the time you take it.

    Like FryingBalls said, quit smoking or cheat it if you want to pass.

    They test for metabolites of THC. THC itself is metabolized by the body rather quickly; it's the metabolites that stick around for weeks.
