  1. basically, what i love about kate bush is her ability to sing very powerfully from non-autobiographical perspectives, and her amazing diversity in soundscape.

for example, arguably her biggest hit "running up that hill" (all of the '80s, all of the awesome) from her 1986 album hounds of love: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wp43OdtAAkM]Kate Bush - Running Up That Hill - Official Music Video - YouTube[/ame]
compare to "the song of solomon" from 1993's the red shoes: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJwnmnMKwrM]Kate Bush The Song of Solomon - YouTube[/ame]

and to "wuthering heights", her début #1 single from the kick inside: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BW3gKKiTvjs]Kate Bush Wuthering Heights. - YouTube[/ame]
she's a genius with arrangement, has a voice like no other, writes amazing lyrics and, to top it all off, she's the most charming kind of batshit crazy. very good 4/20 music, in my opinion.

    thoughts?

  2. I'm on the 4/20 right now and really enjoyed it thanks for sharing. Might have to get some of her albums, are they as good?

  3. absolutely! one thing you'll find is that her albums will differ from one another to varying degrees. she's consistently been experimenting with new styles for her sound, which i think adds a lot to her appeal.

my personal favorites are the kick inside (1978; her début, a very smart, plucky prog-rock influenced record), the dreaming (1982; this is the album where she got crazy and experimental), hounds of love (1986; half innovative dance pop, half experimental ambient piece), the sensual world (1989; probably her most luscious soundscape from her heyday) and aerial (2005; definitely the album with the most creative power behind it).

i just listed five out of her nine or ten albums total, but if you haven't noticed, i reeeeeally like kate bush~
