We're new to this forum and new to growing... Me and 2 friends have just taken delivery of some AK48 seeds, which have not been feminised. We need as much advise as possible on getting started!! We don't wana sound cheeky but if someone could answer a few questions we would be very greatful... 1. How do we seperate the feminine seeds? 2. The best way to germinate them? 3. What soil is best? Can u use any soil from a garden center? 4. Is a flouresent UV tube light the best light for the whole process of growing? If anyone here has grown from AK48 seeds and fancies giving us a fool-proof guide to growning some phat! plants, you would be legendary!! Cheers for any help offered! TonyDJ
1. How do we seperate the feminine seeds? If they're not feminized, you wont know sex until they're mature enough, or you 12/12 them early, and then out them back into veg (24/7 or 18/6). 2. The best way to germinate them? Soak them in a bowl/cup of water overnight, in a desk drawer or something. Poke them when you wake up, if they sink, take a papertowl, fold it, put the seeds inside, keep the towel wet. When you see 2-3cm long root, place them in the soil about .5-1inch deep. 3. What soil is best? Can u use any soil from a garden center? Any soil without ferts. 4. Is a flouresent UV tube light the best light for the whole process of growing? The best, most people would say, is MH/HPS, but if you're going flouro, get CFL's. 45w CFL's (non-equivalent) run about $10.
