Hi, i had a seed in a plastic baggie with some damp paper towel in it. It germinated about a 1 inch root type thing so i took one of those plastic "party" cups and put it in there with the root facing down. How long should I expect before I see signs of growth? and when do i start putting it under light? I am really an absolute beginner lol any helpis aoppreciated.
sometimes it can take a couple days to see anything and i usually just get under somethin so when they do sprout at least they have some thing

Anywhere from two to five days, depending on the plant and how deep you buried it. Need light? Plants need light from as soon as they break the surface. How close to the light depends on the lights. Do you have drainage holes in the bottom of the cup?
