I am at the mercy of the seller and the US Postal System

All the Ladies got a 300ml shot of water with some 10-10-10 nutes added at 1/4th strength

Some porn from the Ladies spreading their leaves for the camera

They look quite good for 11 days of Sprouting :bongin:

  2. Just wanted to say i use a plain 400 watt MH bulb. It puts off alot more lumins then a super blue light spectrum bulb but i have not compaired the both next to each other.

But a 400 in veg is freaking amazing its really worth the money for it. I would suggest converting it to 220 if your good with wiring if not i can give a instructional video on how to do it. Just procede with caution and dont kill yourself because 220 is enough to die. any wiring skills i learned was from a master electrician and the person really knows what there doing.

Im currently using a 400 and you can see what its done to my plants after 3 months of veg :p
Stay easy bro. Ill catch up with you later tonight forr suree.

The last grow I did with a cheap plain 400 MH and HPS Bulb gave fantastic results in gr/watt ratio

So this grow for around the same price of the cheap MH Bulb I got the 7200K bulb :smoke:

I am not to worried about 110/220 aspect as the elecrtic bill would be almost the same and I dont really want to hassle with it. I have to look and see but I think my Ballast is 110/220 and all I need to do is buy the 220 cord and put in a 220 recepticle

  4. The electricity bill will not be the same lol. It should and will be cut in half of whatever your using. Electricity is mesured in AMPS the more AMPS you draw the more electricity will be used.

A AMP is about 125 watts more like 120.5 So generally speaking a 400 watt light running 110 volts is going to produce 4 amps of electricity where as if you have it on 220 volts its going to be running at about 1.75 amps thus drawing less electricity. I went to school for stuff like this :). Ive been thinking about inventing a 480 volt ballist lol just so i can run industrial strength power to the hoods. But you need to have a warehouse or somthing like that which will be purchased soon :).

I would not suggest running 220 unless it actually did something. My wiring job took 2 hours.but i feel you on not wanting to hassle it.. It saves me over 100 dollars a month.. i cannot complain. Now the bulb that i actually purchased was not cheap. it was 20 dollars more expensive then all the other bulbs. It has a combine spectrum from both red blue and orange. All of which are important during vegitative growth.

But dont get me wrong the super blue will help from what ive heard from a friend :)

I hate to argue with you but here is the formula to find out how many watts your using

    Volts x Amps = Watts

    110 Volts x 4 Amps = 440 Watts Per Hour

    1000 Watts = 1 Kw

    440 Watts Per Hour = .44 Kw

    -------------------------------------------------------------

    220 Volts x 1.75 Amps = 385 Watts Per Hour

    385 Watts Per Hour = .385 Kw

    -------------------------------------------------------------

I use to be a Journeyman Electrician

Operating 220 Volt vs 110 Volt has less of a power draw when the equipment first starts up but still uses almost the same amount of watts. Less of a power draw at start up means less wear and tear on the equipment and in theory it will last a bit longer under normal usage

In the past I have taken HPS Ballasts that has an Igniter and added a toggle switch and changed the wiring a tad and made the ballast switchable MH/HPS.

I would have to take 2 of my 110 Volt lines in the breaker box and tie them into each other to have a 220 line and its not worth all that to me, along with that I would have to run a thicker wire (increase from 14 Guage to 12 Guage) to the receptacle. :smoke:

  6. No i appreate the argument, seems i may of been mis informed at one point lol. Well i appreate the info, glad someone can keep me on my toes :p.

  7. I was not trying to be a smart ass, just wanted to give you correct information so later if someone happens to ask, you now have correct info to pass along :)

I am taking in alot of different information about advanced growing so I can get better yields.

Many previous yields I have done have been good (At least I thought so) and the last one I did turned out really great.

GC has given me access to many others in the world who would not even say Hi in passing let alone casually talk about MJ growing and techniques.

I am glad to be around to help others with my knowledge and some level of experience :smoke:

  8. Welcome back to part II :bongin:

    Day 15 Germination:
    Day 12 Planted:
    Day 12 Sprout:

The ladies decided to spread their.....................Leaves for a Porn Shot :D

A lot of the Ladies in the Harem are showing off 2 distinctive nodes.

The way they are growing I don't see why I wont have any reason not to flip the lights to 12/12 in about 3 more weeks.

I have intentions of transplanting them to their main 5 gallon home either this evening or sometime tomorrow, that way they won't be root bound. :bongin:

Got the 5 x 5 x 7 Grow Tent set up and was not really impressed with the workmanship.

The zippers managed to fall off when you got to the end when opening the main door flap, so I have to now be carefull not to unzip to the end.

I was impressed with the way it was lined with Mylar and as many air vents that was built into it :)

The top supports for the lights and fan was not impressive either, quite thin but just enough to hang the light and maybe a fan

I see in the future some home made improvements will be used :)

The really shitty instructions said it can be put together in 15 minutes, it took me that long to do the frame and another 2 hours with some help of another person to get the frame to fit inside the tent

In the process of getting the frame correctly positioned inside the tent one of the corners stitching came apart for about 1 1/2 inches. The stitching could have been doubled and made the tent construction a hell of a lot better

After getting it all together and zipping it up, I was inside and could see alot of light leaks along the zippers

Damn good thing I got this in a trade or I would have boxed this crap up and shipped it back to where ever it was bought.

Pics of the tent and the light hanging with the ladies huddled around getting a sun tan :bongin:

    Day 16 Germination:
    Day 13 Planted:
    Day 13 Sprout:
    Day 1 Vegetation:

Today I will be doing the transplanting of a few of the sprouts (Ladies) that have hit 2 nodes or more to their new condo (5 gallon planters) :D

I hope the new 400 Watt MH Bulb (7200K) is delivered today.

With the big 24 inch box fan blowing over the tops of the Ladies and the tent door left open the temperature readings have been around 83 to 85 and the Ladies don't seem to mind it. :)

I plan on 4 weeks of Veg starting the timer today or the Ladies reaching 18 inches tall before flipping to 10 weeks of 12/12 of flowering

I want the Ladies to finish out the flowering cycle to be between 4 1/2 to 5 Feet Tall :smoke:

That way I can get a nice harvest :bongin:

Pics will follow later when the lights go back on :hello:

  13. subbed. good luck

    Day 16 Germination:
    Day 13 Planted:
    Day 13 Sprout:
    Day 1 Vegetation:

    UPDATE:

I am glad that I started the transplants this morning because the ladies decided the 6" planters was too small for them.

Some of the Ladies had their roots hitting the bottom and sides and looked quite nice but if left in the prior planters would have root bound in a couple more days

Here is a porn shot of Rocket and her Twin Sister in their new condo's (5 Gallon Planter) :smoke:

Their was no way in Hell I was going to transplant from 6" planters to 3 gallon and then in a couple weeks have to transplant again to 5.

I thought it was bad enough to carry 3 gallon planters to the sink for flushing, I can now imagine what its going to be like with 5 gallon planters. :bongin:

Thanks, I hope you enjoy your stay and the show :bongin:

  15. yea, I had to transplant from 3 to 5 gallon and it was a pain in the ass. How often do you flush your plants. I havent flushed mine at all. Ofcoarse I am laid off and can not afford a ph meter. I did buy some strips, but for 8 bucks for 4 strips, I wont be doing that again. According to them my tap water is 8.0 and the run off was like 5.5. I figure I need to raise the ph so I will just keep watering them with the 8.0. Do you know anything about ro water. I do have a ro unit but with my plants looking good so far I figured I would not change anything. I hear one needs cal/mag for ro water also? I just like to pick your brain because you are one of the few soil growers I know and this is my first grow. I need to learn to measure and deal with ph even though my grow is going great so far.

I try to water when they need it instead of a set regular basis schedule. So I only flush when I think their might be aproblem with the nutes

I know that an industrial RO mechine takes every chemical away from the water leaving 99.99% pure Hydrogen and Oxygen.

I dont have a RO at my house, I have city water and after a few times of reading the PH I found to leave well enough alone, Ph readings were between 5.8 to 6.2

Here is a PH Meter that I bought for $8.95 + shipping. Its not overly fancy but its a step in the right direction until I can afford one of them upity high dollar ones thats accurate to .00000000000000000005 and breaks after every reading :D:eek:

I buy from this company alot
Soil pH Gauge : Urban Sunshine, Organic and Hydroponic Gardening

I hope your enjoying the ride :bongin:

  19. Did you learn anything from that experience :D

Before I would plant seeds in 5 - 6" planters and then transplant to 1 or 2 gallon and then on to the final 3 gallon planter.

When I was young and dumb (no grandpa jokes allowed around here) I tried 5 gallon planters and not knowing jack shit I managed to kill damn near everything everytime I tried to grow.

And before you do any Grandpa jokes let me tell you, Yes I am a Grandpa, My Daughter is going to be 30 next month and No I am not going to introduce you Blood Hounds to the Fox :)

Yes the weed in the 70's from Hawaii and Thai Stick was the best 1 hit kick ass smoke around and at $25 a oz that was expensive but worth it :D;)
