Joining the military

  1. If their was a draft I would do everything in my power to resist. Register as a Conscientious Objector, flee the country, go AWOL, whatever it takes really. There's no way I will be a part of that bullshit. I'd kill myself before killing another man in the name of nationalism.

  2. Dude that shit is dangerous. didn't you see the part where that dude got shot in Act of Valor?

  3. All modern wars or just wars fought by the USA or ALL economical. Your not helping anybody.

  4. :metal: Ya me personally idgaf about people in other countries, if it is going to bring my family and my country gain, i'm all for it, dont care really what third world countries we have to step on. ooooh so what we overthrow democracies in favor of dictators. Big woop you think america is a democracy? hahaha You wish, maybe shit would be decent here if it was free of the corporate and Central bank control.

America can be badass again, we just have to lay off on actually invading countries and just use Hostile corporate takeovers of their gov'ts. We just insert the people we want in their gov't from our corporations and companies, make them favor our business. Privatize all their industries, sell them to american investors, basically enslave their people in sweatshops just so America can buy cheap goods and live like kings, while the rest of the world lives in their own feces.

America has the opportunity to enslave the entire world, i deff wanna be on the side thats not enslaved. Now we just have to kill the motherfuckers who are already doing this (the corporations) by nationalizing all of our industries. HAve the central United States Corporation control all the assets of our country...........................honestly i lost myself and have no clue where the fuck this was going so theres some stoney ramblin for ya :smoke:

Fair enough. I can respect that. But how is getting shot at, someone trying to take your life, and you killing them before they kill you; killing another man in the name of nationalism?

Again, I respect what you say. Because right now there is a lot of bullshit going on with the war. The soldier that killed 16 innocent people. He's fucking worthless in my eyes.

But for example, my tours there, EVERYTHING was done by the book. Don't shoot until shot at was our number one rule of war.

Fuck, I remember this one time, during my last tour. I was a sergeant and had a platoon underneath me. We had to escort a army convoy of food and ammunition. We were the support aspect, so if shit went down, we were the ones that needed to take over the situation.

Everything is going well, we are 500 yards away from the army installation and I notice 4 insurgents getting ready to rain hell with mortars on the army installation.

I get on the radio and talk to the commanding officer of the army installation and let him know what's going on. He tells me to do nothing. Needless to say, 5 minutes go by and, BOOM. Shit just went to hell.

56 soldiers dead, could of been prevented. I get your point of nationalism, but with everything in life there is a right and a wrong.

I'm going to quote you again in my next post. I just need to find the thread. A post I made awhile ago. I think you will understand more from where I come from after all I have seen.

  6. Man thats fucked up. I'm going marine corps next winter. I know what a lot of people think about that on GC but I have my own reasons for my decision and I really want to do it and your supposed to do what you want to do in life, thats what I've wanted to do since I was a kid. If I die in a war it'll be worth something to me and thats all that matters.

  7. Alright I find my post. Here you go my friend. This is my view of the world now after all that I have gone through. What happened, happened. But I still wouldn't change anything I have gone through because I wouldn't have the mentality that I have today.

I'm an American born, raised, and grown 27 years of my life. Did 6 years in the Marines and 3 tours. I love my country to death, and I have been around in my military career.

Europe, Asia, Canada, more than 20 states in the USA and countless other places. I agree with your statement about the Europeans how "90%" haven't even been to the states.

But that goes along with Americans, and for any other human being living in any continent in the world. We are equally assholes in one shape or form. Every place on this earth has its good and bad.

Everyone around the world sees everything differently. Countries, people, religion; and things as simple as music and fashion.

And after being to war, and seeing the world at the same time. Being with all different types of races and socializing with them. I came to the conclusion that we are all the same. We are ignorant people that have a stereotype of some form.

We are humans that enjoy war, but in reality we should be embracing the amazing different things we could be seeing in this world. Different cultures, amazing and ancient places, different types of food, animal life, etc.

I'm rambling now. But we as people across the world need to embrace what we have right in front of us. EACHOTHER!

  8. Just from my point of view I would say not to. There are agendas behind our conflicts now that have nothing to do with freedom, prosperity, or humanity. Take it for what it's worth but given the chance to do it again I would drop my rifle on the ground and take the Leavenworth sentence than ever pull the trigger on an innocent human being again. My history: 6 years as 0311. 3/5 I co. Battle of fallujah and now I am 100 disabled combat wounded.

  10. Because, whether you killed that man out of self-preservation or to "stop the terrorists," that action is ultimately in support of the U.S.

I'm glad you view the world in this light now. Its just a shame what you had to do to reach it.

It's hard to come to that conclusion for many people without traveling the world. Like I said, I don't regret joining the military and it's for that sole purpose. It opened up my mind.

But the US is all BS in this age. Hopefully it changes, but that is why I live in a third world country now. I truly live a free lifestyle now.

On a side note, you are a cool dude my friend. It's far and few in between here on GC where I can actually have a educated debate on personal views without name calling and stupid bullshit. +rep coming to you once I jump on the laptop again. Truly a pleasure debating with you! :)

  12. you wouldnt be there if it wasnt for imperialism/nationalism thats how.

I would've never been there if 9/11 never happened.

  14. If you join the Military you are part of the problem.

If there is to be peace in the world,
There must be peace in the nations.
If there is to be peace in the nations,
There must be peace in the cities.
If there is to be peace in the cities,
There must be peace between neighbors.
If there is to be peace between neighbors,
There must be peace in the home.
If there is to be peace in the home,
There must be peace in the heart.

  15. Ya whats so bad about enslaving populations through sweatshops and military dictatorships. Why do you think we are friends with China. And virtually every leader our CIA overthrows becomes a military dictatorship after the coup. Its pretty funny that people are so ignorant about this still. America is so badass because we exploit other people:smoke:

  16. You too, man. Too be honest, I thought you were gonna be one of those gung-ho "git-r-done" type marines that are so plentiful these days. Its been a pleasant surprise to find out otherwise. :)

  17. A. america sucks dick.
    B. capitalism is the problem.

  18. Wrong time to be in the military. As Chaplin once stated, "Soldiers! Don't give yourselves to brutes, men who despise you, enslave you, who regiment your lives, tell you what to do what to think or what to feel! Who drill you, diet you, treat you like cattle, use you as cannon fodder. Don't give yourselves to these unnatural men, machine men with machine minds and machine hearts!"

  19. Whats so bad about America, i live a pretty decent life here. I mean im not complaining i see how other people have it and i'm content man. Its not a capitilist country if corporations and the government work hand in hand, former ceos and chairmen of corporations that work in the government. Lobbyists controlling what your congress and senate vote for pretty much obliterates what little bit of democracy and free society we did have. Now our people our content with their lives and the Corporations that feed off our country. Me i'm content i cant do much but try to tell people that america is fascist, but most people refuse to believe it.

Yeah I understand. A LOT of those types of marines around. I'm not going to lie, when I first got out of boot camp I was one of those. That's what they train you to be. A heartless machine.

Try talking to recon marines, they even think fellow marines are pieces of shit because they aren't recon.

But my whole experience has been a humbling one. I love people and life more now than ever. I'm not saying I am perfect, but I definitely take things in perspective now.
