Assert there independence, huh? They build most of our cars now, how much more indipendent do you think they need to be?
WW2 has been over for quite some time now... We don't have any business being in Korea as far as I'm concerned. We shouldn't be the world police.
One of my very close friends is a Marine stationed there and he says the people there love the Marines... My recruiters who were stationed there said pretty much the same thing. IDK what the fuss is about just political drama imo
Thats from the article OP posted.... Just to be sure here, the Japanese would NEVER want us to leave. We have such a great relationship with them as far as protectionism and naval arrangements for such a long time, that that is the main reason Japan has no standing army. Japan is basically on our balls for our missile defense systems to be in their oceans, and we want it as well. Its just not gonna happen, they just want it to be less of a population/economic issue in the otherwise relatively unpopulated island.
