Went and saw a tribute to her yesterday because it was her birthday. Really awesome, there were 4 girls taking turns and they were all amazing. Whos a fan? Whos not? what are your favorite songs?
Said coooome on, cooome on, coooome on, come on and take IT! takeanotherlittlepieceofmyheartnow baybee Break it!
Yeah they performed that one, was one of the better ones. I think the one I like is called Summertime. I think sublime did something with the lyrics.
I love everything she has done, I have a boxed set that is all of her studio albums. I think it is a tie between [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C-GFqhCq2HA"]Mercedes Benz [/ame]and [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-vq-BArhTo"]Remember[/ame].

Have been, and always will be a huge fan of Janis. She was one of a kind, and even though those girls probably sang their lungs out, probably none of them come anywhere close to capturing the true dynamic brilliance of that woman. Her death is still a painful loss to blues and rock music. I do not know her music that much, but i know she had talent.
I dug the Big Brother and the Holding Company album Cheap Tricks, but as a singer I'm not particularly fond of her. I, like the people above me, dig Summertime the best. On the whole I feel she's overrated. Same with Jimmy Hendrix. But maybe's it's because I dislike they're harsh sounds. It's not like I hate artists who died young, Jim Morrison was a visionary in my book.
Love her. Best personality ever in existence. Sexy, And she knew how to get down. I'd marry if I met one like her http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nacCDuHnWVs
I loved that she was accepted in that genre at that time and recognized for not being cutsie or gospel, even though she had the background. You can feel her in her music. I LOVE "Me and Bobby McGee" and "Try" on the greatest hits live.
i also love me and bobby mcgee! And yay for her getting her star in hollywood or whoever they have the stars in the sidewalk.
