I agree its an obligation to help family out but if they say no you gota respect that. Its a fucked up system social system but whacha gona do?
I would assume the reasoning is that they want you to earn the money yourself. If you go through life taking loans, or putting yourself in a position where other people fund you... you begin to become dependent on others generosity. My dad is very well off, he is the CFO of an extremely successful company... but short of neccesities, he won't throw me a buck... at the end of the day, it made me a harder worker and more proud of things I accomplish on my own.
