Here's some new pics of my first grow. I went out and got more lights. Total, I have 1 48" T8 w/ 2 2800 lumen bulbs, 4 2700k (soft white) 23W CFLs, 1 68W (300W equiv) Softwhite CFL (4200 lumens :D), and 2 23W (daylight) CFL bulbs. Here's some pics of my setup.

Are these too high, and is this enough light?

  2. lights need to be closer 2" above top of plant. 100 watts per plant =ideal

  3. You can put those pretty close, put your hand by them and keep it there for a minute if it feels uncomfortable it probably is for your plant too.

  4. CFL's actually don't feel warm until you TOUCH them. CFL's can be super super close to the plant. The problem is that you'll have to watch closely your plants so they dont grow to touch the CFL.

  5. Im with Gumm ^ the CFL's can be very close but you have to watch ur plants. I just had one of my leaves touch the bulb cuz it was getting greedy for light and it took a nice bite out of it.

  6. Agreed just make sure you watch them.
