Is there any health/general reasons to not use weed occasionally/recreationally?

Discussion in 'Apprentice Marijuana Consumption' started by ThinkingPothead, Oct 26, 2014.

  1. So, basically I just started doing weed not so long ago, I just do it on weekends with friends or when I feel tired and had a really long day I smoke a bit to relax and I'm f*cking loving it. So, since I'm liking it so much I need to know what harm might be associated with it.

I'm a college student so my questions really are: are there permanent physical, emotional side effects from recreational usage? What reasons would I have not to use weed recreationally?

Please 100% honesty, I appreciate your help!

  2. Yes. If you smoke everyday and don't keep your schoolwork/habit in check you will soon find that you have a small problem.

Recently I haven't been able to purchase anything so I haven't smoked and the first couple days I had trouble eating and sleeping

Just be careful and know your limits, set a amount to smoke everyday and stick to that. In the end, you gotta realize if you have a problem or not though

  3. I don't plan on smoking everyday, just casual/weekend usage. Do the same facts apply to that as well?

  4. It all depends on you bro, as long as you get your shit done I don't see there being any future problems

  5. Like said above, don't become lazy and let weed rule your life. Know your priorities!

    Send from my phone! :)

  6. As with anything smoked the heat will mess up your throat a bit, and inhaling plant matter causes tar buildup, but you cough it out unlike cigarettes

  7. High fructose corn syrup, fast food, fluoridated tap water, and GMO food pose much more of a risk to your health than inhaling some weed smoke. Weed should be the least of your worries.

  8. I've been conducting a similar experiment since about my sophomore year in high school.

I am now approaching 51, own a nice home in the country with a little acreage and have held the same steady engineering job for 26+ years.

I'll let you know how it goes.

  10. Is that semantically wrong? Lol

  11. yea, you don't say doing weed. Smoking, vaping or eating.

It's not peer pressure, it's just your turn.

  12. There arent any cons with weed just its illegal is the only one

  13. Singularly, you would user one of those words. As a group, you "do" all if those, so...

  14. Don't abuse.  When you begin to give up on dreams.....you may need to reevaluate.

Don't be a burnout stoner too lazy to get off the couch.

    Enjoy and contribute!

  15. I suppose. But I'd say consume before I say do.

It's not peer pressure, it's just your turn.

  16. My point is that is a valid expression lol. It sounds weird to you because almost nobody says doing weed.

  17. I'm in the same situation as you, freshman in college, new to smoking. Maybe it's just me, but all of my classes have their tests relatively close to the same day or week, so when I've gotten through all the quizzes, readings, homework, or tests is when i smoke that way you've gotten everything figured out and weed fun time isnt getting in the way lol

  18. this is not the place for unbiased responses

  19. Watch the movie Super High Me, no measurable negative health effects after 17 years of smoking weed.

  20. In general, smoke in your lungs isnt very good for you when its hot. Bongs and such cool down th smoke so it doesnt take such a bad toll on your lungs

I smoked a blunt with Patches
