My brother in law was thinking about moving to Cali just to be a grower. He's actually good at it, but I figured I would ask around here for some perspective, as I am 3000 miles away. He wants me to finance him moving, and growing. He think he can start small, but make a living with startup capital around $10K. If I loaned him the 10K, would I be wasting my time? I feel like it's been legal there for a while, so everyone has eyes bigger than their stomachs and even if he can grow great stuff, he knows nothing about selling it, as he's never grown anything more than for himself and a few friends. Seeing as how so many people are doing it, would he be able to start that small and find a couple of buyers? Have prices dropped there so that it isn't worth it to begin with? Is he having a pipe-dream?
