Do powered inline fans run at full speed right out of the box, or do you HAVE to buy a controller to make them run at full speed?
depends on the fan. the ones i got (from homedepot and every bit as good as a horticulture fan, but 1/2 price) didn't have a plug on it, you had to hard wire it. i installed a three prong grounded plug ($2.00) and a rheostat, the rheostat will allow you to set the speed.
Most duct fans will run at full speed unless you add a controller. Basically the exact opposite of what you said. -mu
hey whodi... I have two of those and they run full speed right out of the box, however they are a little quiter if you tune them down a little with the reostat, they also sell speed controllers on ebay... Thats all I use to control heat in my rooms. I bought an extra one just in case one failed...
youve just gotta hard wire em... could someone gimme a pic of this rheostat so i know what i should go get?
