I've always liked the idea of huge plants and a bountiful harvest but have never had the opportunity to ever try my hand at an outdoor grow. That is, until this year. Normally, I'm an indoor kinda guy. I like the control you have over everything and the buds almost always have the best bag appeal as well. Recently I was introduced to a now friend who has opened my eyes to the wonderful world of outdoor. For my attempt I was able to score some really rare stuff from my friend to try out. I started off germinating 5 Blue Zkittlez seeds from DyingBreedSeeds in rockwool cubes which were then transferred to coco/perilite mix for 2 weeks in my tent while the weather outside evened out. This was late March. Once conditons were right they were moved to my greenhouse to continue to veg. Somewhere around late April they were transplanted from 5 gal containers to their final 30 gal pots filled with local organic composted soil and dry amendments and then caged. Now its almost July and because I live in a valley theyre slowly ending the final stretch and starting to transition into flower. Its been very exciting to see them explode with such vigor and life. I will keep this thread up to date as much as possible. Boy do i dread the trimming that'll be involved with these girls hahaha Sent from my SM-G973U using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Thanks! It's been an awesome journey so far. Although they are definitely way bigger than I expected, I can't wait for all the hard work to pay off. Sent from my SM-G973U using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Hey yall wanted to pop in and show off the new growth. Flowering comes early for the valley I live in so they've been stretching quite a bit. All 4 plants have reached 7.5ft but they're slowing and showing the transition more and more daily. Temps have been in the high 90s the past couple weeks but they don't seem to care at all. Well alright, its been a while since I made a post and things have gone off around here! Flower has been in session for a solid 6 weeks and these girls have progressed exceptionally well. The blue zkittlez have been very fast flowering so I wouldn't be surprised if they all finish before October. An average yielder but the coating of resin looks absolutely wonderful. Its going to be a good harvest this year! I was lucky enough to pop 4 different phenos as well. Sent from my SM-G973U using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Dang son, I wish mine was that far in flower! They look great! Unlike you though, I don't have so many plants to trim! But I tell you what, if I help you trim if you help me. Lol, good job.
Tell me about it! I'm still working out the logistics of where im gonna hang it all hahaha Sent from my SM-G973U using Grasscity Forum mobile app
I took clones from the girls to see their expressions indoors as well. Here's a few pics of the different phenos that i wound up with. Sent from my SM-G973U using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Very nice comparison. Not one I've seen before. I have some flowering both inside and outside so I'll be able to see the difference, feel the difference. Curious about the different effects if any between sun and lights. Looking forward to your finished results.
I have an outdoor plant that has a clone budding inside. Will be interesting to see the difference in the final product.
Might have some fire wood after harvest with them stems Haha Sent from my SM-N960U using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Green Cure for Powdery Mildew BT Thuricide for the Caterpillars. Once a week every week for both products. Running a bug zapper nearby helps limit the moths that are the source of the caterpillars. BNW
I've been using trifecta as a preventative every few days a week. No mildew issues, the avg humidity out here is around 2 to 5 percent and its been 90 to 110 for the past 4 weeks. The worst problem I've had was aphids but everything's under control so far. Thanks for the advice tho Sent from my SM-G973U using Grasscity Forum mobile app
