I hope this is the right section to ask this. Iv been looking into hps systems as my cfl plants look short for 6weeks from seed an was looking around ebay but im.not sure exactly what i want. Iv seen a Apollo setup but dont know if its reliable. Plus is 250 enough? Or should i go 400? Id wanna grow maybe 4 plants in 5 gallon buckets at a time. u will need at least a 400W for 4 plants , thats what i got and i get great results . also u can look on craigslist for light and ballast, but ebay is gonna be the best deal , just keep for ones that r auctions not buy it now and u should get some good deals , got my whole system or under $100. with cooltube.
