Ideal temp for vape ?

Discussion in 'Seasoned Marijuana Users' started by aceofspades, Mar 12, 2009.

  1. Hey all, I just picked up one of those V-Tower Extremes (i think) it's the one with the remote and the digital read out and bags and what not.. i bought it off a buddy for a cheap price because at the time the digital readout and the remote were busted..

its been working alright for me until yesterday when somehow the digital screen started working again and i discovered that ive been frying my nugs at 350C !
i did a search and found a very helpful thread with a list of active ingredients and their boiling temperatures , all of which were <220C.. immediately i changed the temp on my V-tower to 230 which would be enough to get all that goodness outta my herb without frying it..

however, ever since i lowered the temp i cant even tell if im getting a hit off it.. when i was running it at 350C it was very easy to tell as there was a white smoke/vapor when i exhaled..

so i guess i have a few questions, if 220C is the right temp shouldn't i be able to see a vapor coming out when i exhale?
what do you guys run your vapes at?

  2. 350 is way too hot. You really shouldn't see smoke per se. THC boils at 200C (392F). If you're getting smoke you're burning it. Most people use lower temps than 220 even.

  3. 220 is definitely still a bit too hot, try 175-210.

Read that guide and you're set. I was going to try and explain the temperature sensor issue but to be honest I'm confused as to which method the V-tower uses now, so just read the guide and try it out. Let me know how it goes!

  5. Anything under 700 degrees kelvin is way too cold.
