I miss old fashioned photography

  1. All our pictures are digital and on facebook now. no more good old fashioned photos on paper anymore. I'm not a photographer but I think its a hobby I might enjoy. I look at old photos taken on a high quality camera (a film camera! not digital) and I notice how much warmer the colors are. Sure the resolution isn't as good, but it just looks, well, warmer. Best word to describe it.

Any photographers out there? I think it would be a fun hobby.

Don't worry, there are tonnes of people who vow by film. Sure, a DSLR is going to give you a crisp picture with incredible resolution. But nothing can replicate the art in a photo taken by a vintage camera.

The only downside is that film can be quite expensive to buy and develop.

Here is one my brother took recently on his Lomo Smena 35mm

I don't think it has to be high quality, at all. In fact, many feel that the imperfections in old cameras are what define them, and their ability to create beautiful shots.

  3. Uuuuuhhh this sucks?

Did he shake the camera as he took the picture or something??

  4. Each to their own, I guess? I quite like the photo.

Yeah, it's intentional.. in case you thought I felt this was a great still shot of some person. The exposure was increased and the frame was shifted, clearly.

  5. O

    Alright

I guess it's pretty nice, good example of how the colors are warmer
