I have an interview for a job that I know nothing about

  1. So, backstory. Recently got out of the military, started applying for jobs while I was still in. One job I applied for was a Game Tech at a famous pizza place. I saw the offer, figured I'd apply for the shits and giggles.

Fast forward a couple months. I have not been able to acquire a job since separating. The famous pizza place has made numerous attempts to contact me, so I finally got in touch with them. I now have an interview as the Game Tech.

Now, the thing is, I have absolutely no idea how to do that job. I know nothing about technology, or electricity or any of that. I told this to the guy on the phone, and he didn't really say much. They want a veteran to fill the position, so I fit that quota, but still.

I do remember seeing a thread similar to this a few months back, regarding a butcher shop, but I can't seem to find it. Sooo, blades/bladies, what would you do in this position?

I have full intentions of telling the dude at the interview that I don't really know what I'm doing. Idk, maybe they can train me or something.

Also, sorry for the long post.

  2. It requires no experience most likely. It's a pizza place, they don't care

  5. Lol, that was the thread I was referring to in original post. Like I said, I have full intentions of telling the interviewer what's up at the interview. It sounds like a super sick gig, but I just don't know how to do it lol

  6. Who knows, it might be something that doesn't take a whole lot of training. If they're cool with training you and you're willing to learn, then it might work out great. As long as you're up front about that, and make sure they're not expecting you to do stuff you don't know how to do immediately, go for it.

  7. Honestly, my bro had a job as the "handy man" around a pizza place, fixing shit whenever it broke. He just looked up videos and manuals online, and worked hard.

I worked at some kid who was a food runner became an "electrician" doing jack shit fixing light bulbs

  9. Yea I know, I just thought you might like to take another read haha.

  10. Lmfao the first thing that I thought of when I read your post was the butcher chop shop story lol
But yea go in there tell them you have no experience but you learn things quick. They want the quota not nessasary the experience.
You could probaly get your self a rise right away because they need a veteran on their staff for tax purposes.....
