I can't get high anymore!

  1. So the first thirty or so times I lit up, I was about 18-20 yrs old, and it was so great: extremely intense, classic noise amplification, time dilation etc. Now I've been smoking about twice a week on average for two or three years. But after getting high regularly, it doesn't do anything much for me. Instead, I get closed eye visuals, weird sinus headaches and real paranoia (like I think people in the room are implying things about me, or that they know things about me, or that they are government agents.) But no real buzz. No munchies, no time dilation, no real sound enhancement, although I do hear voices if I smoke enough. I'm getting good stuff sometimes, and middies. I smoke large and small amounts, often alone. Even when I've stopped smoking a couple times for a month or so for drug tests, I come back to it and it's the same lack of buzz. I feel like I haven't been really high in years. Does anyone else have a similar experience? Or know why this is happening? FYI I've done a little acid and shrooms, salvia and DXM too, and had several psychotic breaks under drugs that landed me in the hospital (try tripping LSD tied to a hospital bed surrounded by cops. Not fun) Any advice? I miss my old days with the herb!
     
  2. i stopped smoking for 5 days an then smoked again, i was laughing at everything. jus take a break and youll be good

  4. My advice? Get the most expensive weed money can buy (quality>quantity). I smoke 1.5gs everyday of MMJ buds and have yet to develop any tolerance after 2 years of heavy, everyday smoking. :smoking:
     
  5. Just take a T break. Even a couple of weeks will make a dent.

  9. I bet a lot if it could have to do with your issues with other psychedelics. You can potentially reset a lot of networks in your brain during a trip. I would suggest trying to work those issues out without smoking for a while. Possibly build off of them. Try to figure out what it was that caused your perceptions to snap while tripping and use them to better/enhance/widen yourself. In another short explenation, you aren't going to get as high when you're so worried about getting high.

  10. Dont put yourself down, asking questions is what this sites for. I reccommend taking a good break, trying to get all of the trace ammounts out of your system so you have a fresh start, also i've realized kind of the same thing and have resolved it by taking short breaks, and smoking with differant people at differant locations, it seems to change your perception alot more and make the experience much more enjoyable. Hope this helps. Also maybe switch up the devices you use. Good luck
     
  11. Yeah I know wath are you going trough right now, and believe me it´s not funny at all. Like paranoia about other people, like knowing stuff about you and all that , that happens to me from time to time, and I see a lot of friends of mine dealing with it to. IMO LSD and shrooms play a important role on this one, too potent drugs that end up "killing" the good old highs, for example I can´t smoke without knowing for sure that I´m gonna be anxious. My advice, if you can´t smoke, dn´t feel confident enough just don´t do it, don´t push it, I tried and it went even worse. Try to distract your mind to another way of life, get a dog, meditate, learn how to play guitar. I hope that you conquer yourself, so you can conquer in life.

  12. Switching up the devices used seems to always get me more high. Like from a pipe for a week to a bong for a week etc. And when I make things to smoke from, I also usually seem to get more high.

  17. No disrespect at all, but mj can help speed up paranoid skitzophrenia if its already in your genetics. Something to seriously consider.

I've been smoking on and off for thirty years and suddenly I can no longer get high, using the same pot I've gotten high from many times and other sources that I know are good, and it has nothing to do with frequency of smoking either. It really seems like my brain was somehow "tweaked" by forces unknown. Anyone else?
     
  19. Start taking Omega 3! (Takes about a month or so to have an effect) To get high, THC has to activate these little things called CB1 receptors that are on your cells. You body needs Omega 3 to make working CB1 receptors! The "average American diet" has almost NO Omega 3!

    (In case you don't speak "Sci-speak" here's a translation-

    “The US diet sucks big time and we are fat, undernourished, and crazy because of it. We get WAY too much Omega 6 and not enough Omega 3. Not getting enough Omega 3 can make you crazy because without it, the CB1 cannabinoid receptors in your brain aren’t made right- a chunk that is supposed to be attached, isn’t! Broken receptors give you “impaired emotional behavior”. So we think it’s the low Omega 3 diet is making the US totally nuts!” )

    Now, since the CB1 receptors are not working right because of that broken piece, does this also mean that people who have been deficient in Omega 3 for a while are missing out on the full medical benefits- and their maximum high? Sure looks like that to me!

    Since Omega 3 is very good for your heart and lowers cholesterol levels, you should be taking it anyway!

  20. Smoke in different locations and/or different people. Mix strains of weed. Try edibles or a type of hash. Use different smoking methods/tools.

    Be careful though, you think you have a high tolerance now? - smoking just concentrates will increase your tolerance a lot.

    I bought a zone of hash for a personal, doadies barely phase me now. :/
