I have to say, when I read a lot of posts on this website, I cannot help but cringe. I think to myself: A) The public school system is really failing our young people or B) A LOT of people who sign up for their accounts on GC don't read the guidelines and think people can't tell that they're an underage person. Example: The user who always posts about getting in trouble for smoking at his parents house. The user who posts pictures taken with a cell phone, of their bud in the bag in poor lighting asking US to weigh it for them. there are many more. I'm not bitter I just know I can't be the only one who feels this way. This is just something I wanted to get out and possibly create a discussion on the topic and such. *EDIT* By the way, the public education system is failing out children. School is not a place to gain the ability to recall dates with increasing accuracy or to do well on standardized tests. It's supposed to be a culmination of years of absorption, not strictly of facts, but of critical thinking skills, problem solving skills, and a well-rounded intellect. Nay this isn't what we receive, no culture. We receive drones who believe math and reading are all that are important. Blah enough. We shall see more opinions and a thriving conversation, I hopes.

Understandable, you're right that there isn't much of a way to add an age verification element short of say.. requiring CC authentication but that's a bit much just to join a forum. Enough with my boldness of saying what the kids would do to join a pot forum. I do enjoy seeing their threads because other users really lay into them and it's great fun for all. I'm trying to find the area of the forum with the best user-base shall I say. Apprentice tokers always has a ton of viewers but... you post something past 1 paragraph and you get hit with a wall of "TL;DRs" And sure, sometimes what people say isn't incredibly insightful but if someone's posting their thoughts I say let them, and try to empathize somewhat. Shit we're all here for our love of the green-stuff and that unites us whether we like it or not.
Did I just find another person with a real, working brain? I fucking hope so. Yeah the CC verification thing would be overkill; and who the fuck are we kidding anyway, I used tons of CCs that weren't mine to verify my age on a porn site when I was young I guess the only thing that would REALLY work is if your webcam could scan your ID, then your face, but I just chalked that up to my 'high-ness'. Whatever Sad to say it but there is no subsection where all the useful-posters hang at; we're (toot toot) just kind of scattered around the board.
I found that a lot of the really great users of this forum actually inhabit the growing section of the forum, because well obviously if they're smart enough to know how to grow, let alone possessing the ABILITY to grow their own then they can appreciate good vibes. And YES! retina scanners, ID's, SS#s, and birth certificates will be a must to register. PS dude I totally used CC's that weren't mine to get access to pr0n when I was a kid.

You're surprised that a web forum about smoking weed is mostly populated by teenage kids posting about bullshit from their dorm rooms? Really? What did you expect it to be? Educated and enlightened debate about social issues? No. More like how the Illumunati rules the world and how 9/11 was an inside job. That is just the reality of basing a forum around smoking weed. You get a lot more Wiz Khalifa fans than Carl Sagan fans. There are plenty marijuana associated forums that are about growing, or politics, medical marijuana, etc. And they have very well educated, and usually older members discussing more interesting stuff. But its a lot more boring to the regular pot smoker who takes a bong rip before watching anime or youtube videos or whatever. GC is what it is. And its what its supposed to be. A place to waste time and look at stupid shit for an hour or two while you get high. If you're expecting enlightened, or philosophical debate you came to the wrong place. But if you want to know if farting in your grow closet is a good way to add C02 to your micro grow you came to the right place.

Frankly, i'm tired of reading all of these complaints about underage people on the forum. i am starting to see more people like you complain about them than actually noticing them myself. Wherever they are lurking, they sure as hell aren't bothering me.
