The following is more to gain a general consensus that marijuana isn't like other drugs and shouldn't be viewed as one which would hopefully help turn the population more towards legalization. Marijuana is still being viewed in such a negative fashion. When groups claim they want legalization, the STUPIDEST problems come up from the opposition. All these negative connotations and assumptions with marijuana are stuck out there to make people against it. "Oh, do you want your pilots toking up while flying?", "Kids are all going to get lazy" "Its bad for you" "It hurts brain development" Do any of these problems really exist? Does marijuana actually do any of these things? WE NEED STUDIES. This all prevents the legalization from moving forward because they are bringing up these stupid yet unsolved problems. There are things we need to get research out there, does marijuana affect driving? work ethic? etc etc etc Once achieved, We need to show the people out there evidence. Scientific studies and disclosures of many successful potheads. I'd say release a scientific study, but that's not enough. After getting all conclusive research, We need an ULTRA GENERIC HARD HITTING overproduced yet well made Documentary that will reveal the truth. We have a few good ones, but none really on that actual scientific proof I brought up earlier. The Union is the closest thing we have but we need something as a direct response to these obstacles against marijuana. So in list form... It needs to have at LEAST: -Scientific evidence that marijuana isn't dangerous and its use regarding kids and whether or not that is bad -Evidence that people still become successful even with the use of marijuana -A disclosure of marijuana users who ARE successful This documentary needs to be about recreation more than anything, and why marijuana should be legalized not just as a medicine, but as the beautiful plant we all love to smoke. It's already proven that hemp can provide a large portion of ethanol to help fuel this world. But they choose not to use it. Clearly they know it's because of the profits that they'll lose.
This is supposed to be for the people who still choose ignorance. With a ultra generic hard hitting documentary, they will no longer have the ability to say things like this. They will have no argument. If we have all the research, then we need to call the guy that wrote sicko.
one of the biggest problems is what i read in another post, people that don't smoke, just don't care enough about prohibition issues to do anything. you would have to make enough people care first, that's a tough one. medicinal mj does this to some extent, and some would argue about how far we've come. get enough people to vote for the right reps and you would be on to something. even then there's the problem of big med companies paying off politicians to not legalize,(through campaign contributions and such)it's happening slowly, state by state. either this ball will keep rolling, (who knows how slowly), or bills will get repealed and it will come to an end.
