I have had to outbreaks of spider mites than can be traced directly to plant-tone dry plant food. I only keep mother plants in soil. Is there any way to sterilize it before i use it?
Brisoke, it is impossible for a fertilizer to be responsible for mites. It would be a fool's errand to try to sterilize fertilizer. Your plant mites come from other mites, that's the only way that happens. And it happens to the best of us. Take a gander on any of the mite threads for mite solutions and best of luck.....MIW
corto maltese lists a kill solution in the thread "natural insecticides and fungicides" when it comes to DIY there are others, but that's a pretty good start.
