How to build a box for air pump?

Discussion in 'Grow Room Design/Setup' started by Merkidge69, Jun 6, 2017.

  1. Basically i grow DWC in my bedroom and the noise of the air pump is pissing me off!
Any ideas on how to build something to put it in which will make it silent?

    Replies appreciated!

  6. Use a shoebox if you're running a diaphragm (aquarium) pump.

Home Depot and Lowe's sell scrap wood, can usually find a quarter sheet of plywood for a few bucks. If you're running a commercial piston pump then this is the way to go, those things are beasts. Mine would shake a shoebox apart.

Whatever you use, foam, insulation, whatever, just make sure you leave room for airflow so the pump doesn't overheat.
