I'm trying to decide on which effecient lighting system I want to use for my 4x4 tent. I was thinking cmh, but a lot of ppl reccomend COB lights instead. Or quantum boards, which also seem really good. So I'm looking into it, and am wondering how many COBs would I need in a 4x4 tent. Not looking to over do it though. Just enough to spread at least 3.5 feet and be sufficient enough to grow 3 or 4 plants with good penetration. Sent from my LG-H830 using Tapatalk
This one is cree diodes CXB3590 4' x 4' Grow Kit This one is cob VERO29 4' x 4' Grow Kit But if you aren't looking to over do it, get 2 of the 2×2 kits or a 260w quantum board kit with 304 boards. The quantum only covers a 3x3 for flower max though Optic is a really good cob company also, commercial leds. The optic 4, or 6 would be good. 6 preferably it covers a 4x4
One of the reasons so many people have started using the quantum boards is not only are they great lights, they're not that expensive. It's $100-200 less at least for a qb260 setup for a 4x4 compared to cobs if you're buying kits and not building yourself. 2 qb260's is all you need for a 4x4 and they're $325ea if you build it yourself. If you want to save more money you can DIY a qb120 version of the qb260 for about $200 a fixture and fill a 4x4 for the $400 range with first class led light. There's the qb120 thread around.
