Just put the plants into 24 hr Veg cycle. Running a 1000 watt MH bulb. Plants are about 7 inches tall. Any suggestions how how far to keep the hood from plant tops? Thanks guys
I don't have a general rule of thumb on the distance, but my rule is get the light as close as possible without burning the plants. As long as the plants aren't getting burned, the closer the better. I use an indoor/outdoor thermometer, just put the outdoor sensor at the canopy level and adjust the lights according to the temp. Hope that helps.
To give a general idea how far your plants should be from the light, put your hand directly over the top of the plant and feel the heat. If you feel like it's too hot then move the plant further from the light and vice versa.
