depends on how big the containers are and how much perlite is in your soil. I've got about 20% perlite to 80% peat moss MG mix and I water my plants about every 2-3 days; I alternate between feeding them super thrive and plain tap water, to help prevent root burn. Plants are in first few days of 12/12 light...oh, and they're about a foot tall in 1 gallon containers... ..phew!..fingers...cramping......need...bong....
