How bad is smoking for your throat?

    I was hitting my pipe this morning and i got to thinking. I know that compared to ciggarettes smoking marijuana is easier on the lungs. In my -personal- experience i found i coughed less and had less problems with asthma. But i was wondering, how harsh is it on your throat?
