I have a 400 w MH right now on a switchable ballast and I am looking to get an HPS for flowering in the next month ish. Is the hortilux bulb worth an extra 50 bucks for the blue spectrum it emits or since I have the MH is it not necessary to have that blue spectrum for flowering? secondly will the blue spectrum emitted by the hortilux be sufficient for vegging plants?
I like the hortilux. The blue spectrum is good to have in flowering... increases potency. HPS (even without the added blue spectrum) will work for veg. But MH will do a better job.
