Does anyone know if a hermaphrodite plant will self-pollenate? I was watching a show about weird abnormalities in humans and there was a part about human hermaphrodites The narrator said it wouldn't be possible for a human hermaphrodite to impregnate itself for one reason or another. So if you had a hermaphrodite plant would the same apply?
I'm not to sure of the implications for a plant genetically because it does produce seed, but I think its because humans have hormones that make us more male or female, even hermaphrodites, then it makes one of the sexual organs sterile, also do you not think it would be a bit hard for them to have sex with theirself.
If a plant herms it can pollenate itself and all the plants around it. I think the reason human hermaphrodites can't self impregnate is because even if they have all the parts the hormones required to run both of them don't work well together in the same body. Maybe they could take enough hormones to make some sperm then freeze it and somehow fire up the ovaries and such. It sounds like a bad idea for many reasons.
Yes they will self pollinate.. its usually how you end up with bag seeds...in dubs and what not from your dealer or w.e. lol... And as far as femenization.. I mean I have amazing luck with bag seeds being female.. 100% soo far lol 8/8 . But i believe they make femenized seeds in another way.. usually something called colloidal silver is used to for a female.. makes it turn male.. then they breed THAT with another fullblown female... soo i guess you are right somewhat.. herms do have some part in it.. maybe yer right .. im no scientist lol ... and with proof ive gotten thus far.. herms do give off alot of females
